Default Plenum Vacuum lines...

In chasing my plenum vacuum leak, I ran across hard emission lines sold in a packet at Autozone. The line is slightly bendable and I found that if you take a hairdryer, put it on high heat you can mold the lines to the same configuration of the originals and use the factory fittings. UPon heating, you can twist the line, turn it with 90 degree bends and it stays formed in that position.

Once I heated the line, I held it in place and then switched the hair dryer to cool to help the molding process. Obviously a heat gun would work better, but this worked well. I also noticed that Dorman sells a three way check valve just as we have under the plenum.

Nice find! Thanks for passing it on also!

Just in time for my under plenum excursion this weekend. That 3 way vac check will put a period on my punch list for under there. I'll have to take a trip to A/Zone and look at their dorman selection. You don't have a P/N on it?

No part # its in the misc section for repair parts, where they have door universal door handles, hood latch release cables, etc.

The vac hose is back by the PCV valves in the back of the store

I know I have busted vacuum spider at the moment and will be pulling the plenum to repair the vacuum line. I also have a set of FIC injectors which I will be replacing at the time.

I was thinking about replacing at least easy ones with 1/8" or 3/32" OD aluminum tubing. If it needs to be bent, I figured a wire coat hanger inside the tube while bending may keep it from crimping.

Has anyone tried this before?
