Radiator
I received a price of $389 for a new aluminum radiator from Entropy Technology Corp. Has anyone heard of these guys. If so any comments would be appreciated.

The OEM radiator that is offered by thepartsladi is made by Delphi. It will fit in a ZR-1, but be aware that it is the radiator that is used in C4 Corvettes with an automatic transmission. The radiator has two fittings on the right side tank and a transmission cooler inside the right tank that are not on an original radiator for a manual transmission car.
This pic shows one of one of the extra fittings and you can see the "cooler" in the outlet pipe. The radiator will fit perfectly in a ZR-1 and the extra fittings cannot be seen when the shroud is installed. I am not familar with the radiator that you mention in the OP. The important question for any after-market radiator is the fin area thickness. both the DeWitts and the Ron Davis radiators are thicker that the stock radiator. They require either trimming the fan shrouds by cutting off 5/8 inch of material, OR installation of spacers to hold the fan shroud away from the radiator core. (Ron Davis recommends cutting, see their web site, and DeWitt sends the spacers) Here is a picture of my LT5 with the spacer in place: I hope this helps. Jim

About the best feature of an all aluminum radiator is the lack of the plastic end caps but unless you a fulltime track racer its just not needed and I live in Arizona and can tell you a new OEM radiator that is maintained will provide ample cooling capacity for any C4 Now back to your question. I have never heard of that brand before but if I was going to go with an aftermarket alternative I would go with either the Dewitts or Fluidyne as listed by Jim and what Phil uses. I am not a fan of spacers or cutting the shroud but hey thats me.

It looks to me like Dewitts is the best deal. I'll be ordering within the next couple of weeks - got other projects underway right now. You guys should think about comming to Spring Mountain in March for the Corvette Track Days. I need some help whipping up on the newer cars. |
