Gas tank build sheet
I have a 1990, #1656. I think I have found the gas tank build sheet. I have the exhaust system off (installing headers) and I can see what looks like paper between the forward gas tank surface and the body. It appears to be stuck to the gas tank. My question is how do I remove it without destroying/damaging it. Do I need to remove the gas tank to get to the build sheet and what is the best method to free it from the tank?

Re: Gas tank build sheet
You need to completely drop the tank. And then patiently pull and use a razor blade to cut the adhesive off the back. You are at the mercy of the GM employee depending upon how good a day he was having and how much glue he used.
There is also one in the front frame rail. It is far easier to call the museum and order one though. |

Re: Gas tank build sheet
Go on line to the museum and you can get a copy of the build sheet and the Window sticker - If you want they will laminate them as well for you - Worth the money.
