Oil temp
Double stinting the ZR-1 this past weekend for roadracing and the coolant temp never moved off the 100 C mark. Oil on nthe other hand was at about 125-130 C. The oil temp should not have crept above the coolant temp, maybe slightly.
Anybody else beat their car this hard? And what is your temp? |

Added to my list also! Saw 230F maybe 240 water with a oem same thickness replacement rad, normally 220-230, would cool it down easily on the straight away but that took the fun out of it. Oil up to 230 but usually 220, with red line 10/40. It would cool down quickly on the straights also. That's all going by the analog indicators. Tried the ac mode once and it didn't seem to like the buttons I pushed and kind of locked up so never tried it again. Maybe your oil temp regulator is not opening all the way?

Re: Oil temp
Mine did the same thing in July with air temps around 100 f. I saw temps at 220-230 f for water but would cool off if I backed off. I was more concerned with the 260f oil temp. It too would cool off if I backed off and short shifted.
Next step is to clean oil cooler and radiator. |

Re: Oil temp
I can't say because the oil temp seems to stay the same. Now I'm starting to wonder if it is working. Is the sending unit by the filter, cause I,m not sure where it is located.

Re: Oil temp
I'm not sure if the temps I see in the Z06 make for a valid comparison to a ZR-1, but during track sessions in July my water temp went as high as 220 degrees while the oil was at 275 degrees.
