Under plenum maintenance...................
Ive got the plenum off for injector replacement and before I get it back together what if any preventive maintenance should I look into?

Don't forget to tighten oil box bolts.
Check, double check, check again, *ALL* vacuum fittings/lines/solenoids. If you don't already have a vacuum tester, get down to your local parts store and buy one. Check the PVC's and associated hosing, it's easier to get at with the plenum off. For some odd reason, mice seem to love to take up residence under the plenum. Be on the lookout for nesting material down around the starter. TomC

Check all of the injector housing bolts. When I pulled mine for porting I discovered that the inside row on both sides were finger tight. I understand this is not uncommon. While I was under the plenum I took small plastic wire ties to secure all the vacuum lines.

Change the serpentine belt if it needs it or you don't know the last time it was replaced!
I totally agree with what Tom said about. Take everything off to look at the starter (down below the coils). Then remove the starter and clean out the drain hole. Best of luck! |
