Pulling the plemun...

Im thinking of pulling the plemun soon. Thinking of replacing the injectors and troubleshooting a vacuum leak.

So the question is where is the best source for injectors, gaskets and anything else I will need. What should I have on hand?

The vacuum pump runs all the time. I apply vacuum to engine side of tubing and apply 14" and pump still runs.

Any help would be apprceated....

There are options on which injectors to use, a lot will depend on how much you want to spend.
Current choices are:
Original Delphi Multec. $$$$
RC Engineering $$$$
Accell $$
I've read about refurbed Bosch injectors, but so far only one guy has them installed. No data to work with yet.
There's lots of info here, just do a search on "Injectors".

JeffVette might be able to help you out with some of the parts you might need for the secondaries vacuum stuff ($$),

I would talk to JeffVette...extremely knowledgeable concerning the ZR-1 and LT5 and he offers very competive pricing for all the parts you need. Also, he was patient with my questioning..quite sure he has heard the same questions over and over, but he was willing to humor me with his knowledge and I appreciated that!

Concerning injectors... if your gasoline has ethanol in it (such as here in Northern Virginia... 10%) then do not use the OEM Delphi Multec... not ethanol friendly.

TV1, just a fwiw. Over at CorvetteActionCenter.com in the C4/ZR-1 section is a great write up on how the system works and also some very useful trouble shooting steps.

When you applied vac to the plenum side of the hose did it hold? Did it drop & how fast? Has this situation set any codes?

Oh, Jeffvette also has accel injectors ready to drop in.

Just FYI, but that's not true. Both the '90-92 replacements and '93-'95 replacements from Delphi are rated to E10, the same as any gasoline injector on the market. You aren't buying some injector they made in 1991 and stored on a shelf since then.

Bob, don't be so sure. I've ordered some parts that have shown up with the old ac delco label.

For the amount of money they want for stock injectors, I will not use them in my car, or use them in a customers car, unless they are adament they must have stock.
