Default Fuel Tank Replacement?

I have a 90 with the dreaded collapsed liner problem that affects the fuel reading. I thought about just adjusting the float arm as recommended but looking more at just getting a new tank. I found them at Corvette Recycling new for $199 plus shipping.

Has anyone ever replaced their fuel tank due to this problem and have any input about this. My Z has been in storage for awhile so I was going to clean it out anyway before running anything through my new RC injectors and fuel lines. It has STABIL in it and it worked great since I fired up first start after 2 year storage, before going into storage again from all my mlitary moves and deployments.

Thanks,

Thanks Jeff. By the way, all of the NW folks have been awesome with the help on my project and I could not have done what I have so far without your help. I printed your instructions of my plenum pull and it was a piece of cake when breaking viginity on this. Locobob suggestions was also used for my coolant bypass and I think I have a pretty good plumbed system that I will post later. I'm using the header install tips too from Nick when I tackle that starting this weekend.

Take care and Aloha,

Your welcome Craig. Glad the info is good.

BTW, here are some pics of the removal of the furl tank. You don't have to remove the rear bumper, The job is easier than it looks. Book rate is 6 hours for removal and installation.

Like Jeff said it wasn't too bad of a job. Some of the body work fasteners are a challange to get to. I'd suggest having a helper on hand also as the bumper and subframe are hard to hold in place while turning wrenches.
