Cool Re: all set for Lemans

Sounds like a great time and enjoy your 180+mph run on the autobahn.

Now that's what I call a road trip!

I hope the rain abates but if it doesn't call the pits & tell'em to get the semi-wets out of the warmers! Man I'd like to test out my D3's on that road!

Hope you have a great time!

Back from the trip safe and sound. The Z ran really well throughout the trip. My favourite comments were 'Your car is so loud, its obscene. It sounds so good' that was from the son of friend that was following down to Le Mans in his C2 and refered to the noise they could hear coming out of the Rouen tunnel as they approached it. They other was form our friend in the Viper aka Viper Paul, again after following 2 cars back in a tunnel, said the car was embarissingly loud

Anyways Le Mans was wet and had too much pace car on the track. That was a big shame at the end as Ron was catching the winning AM upto 30 secs a lap so would have either won it or binned it.

Switzerland was a blast. Some of the mountain roads were a bit too narrow and enclosed for the Z (a Lotus Elise would have been ideal) add to that the fact that locals had a tendancy to exit a corner on the wrong side of the road. However some of the mountain roads were excellent. One of the highlights was having a blast up a twisty road with an R1 and leaving him behind (until I hit traffic). Picture of said road on my site. Another road was 13km long, climbed 15% and had 350 tight bends.

No high speed runs in Germany this year (my highest was 285 k's) as the weather wasn't great and the roads were too busy...always next year. The racing at Hockenheim was excelent as usual.

Must be nice to do that on a regular basis. Great pictures of your KOTH in the various scenic spots.
