While the custom sunshades for Corvettes aren't expensive, I wanted fitted sunshades for all my cars. Taped some contractor paper over the windshield, and cut out a template of the windshield. Traced that onto a 25' roll of Reflectix. It's a couple inches wider than it needs to be, and will get trimmed to fit a little better.
Going to do the same thing with the acrylic roof panel, and get some hook and loop tape to keep things in place. |

I did the same with that material on the glass roof on my daily driver. It made a massive difference in our 100+ degree summer days.

Great idea! How'd you get it to stay in place? Now if someone would come up with some ZR-1 styled oven mitts to remove it on those hot days to avoid burnt hands ...

Necessity is the mother of invention. ![]() I installed it with the metal surface facing the glass and used regular double sided tape along the perimeter with one piece in the centre. Visually I don't care about seeing the bits of tape if I look inside the glass roof from outside, I'm just happy for the insulation. On my car there are pull out screens that cover the glass which I keep in place in case the insulation comes unstuck while driving. |

Not sure what I'd do with the edges to tidy them up. If people don't mind the "unfinished" cut edges of the reflectix, I can make more.

You've got to do something with that left over roll of Reflectix.
How much to ship one to 32327? And is it wide enough to cut one for the rear window? |

Sounds like another cottage industry founded right here on ZR-1 Net Registry!
