Tightening Oil Pan Bolts
Do the heat shields need to be removed in order to tighten these bolts? There are nuts holding them in place but it looks like there might be another set of nuts (or something?.maybe a spacer?) between the heat shield and the oil pan. Hopefully that makes sense. Thanks.

Re: Tightening Oil Pan Bolts
No heat shields need removed to tighten the bolts.
You can remove the K supports to more easily access the front bolts. 'Crabs

Re: Tightening Oil Pan Bolts
I have an oil leak or two so as a first attempt to fix it I decided to tighten the oil pan bolts. I did end up having to move the heat shields out of the way to get to the nuts that are supposed to be tightened. I think there were about 4 shields in total. Most of the oil pan nuts/bolts were not tight. I actually found a few things that werent tight. This was BY FAR the messiest job Ive ever done on a car. The pan and surrounding area were insanely dirty. Got it done though. Everything is tight and hopefully no more leaks.
