ECM Reboot
I had my ECM overhauled, for lack of a better term, for my 92 Z. Got it installed and nothing. I didn't hear the pumps come or anything. First time that I have done this so is the whole ECM erased and requires re-installing.
Never done that before so I don't know. Now what? Shipit to Marc Haibeck? Roy

Re: ECM Reboot
Try reseating the PROM inside the ECM.
Without the PROM nothing will turn on. Crabs

Re: ECM Reboot
Now that's a thought. Ok. I did the diagnosis on a code 31 a while back. I did the usual stuff like replace the sensor, etc. No fix. Finally managed to get some help and traced it down to the ECM. I knew Ken Anderson and sent it to him for a look see and see if he could track down the problem. I talked to him and found out that he sent it to another place to do that. I don't know the name of the company. I got a call from a little old lady about returning it. I gave her my address and found out Ken had died. When I had time I put it in and started it. Engine turns over great but no start. It normally starts right away. I got to thinking that the thing was wiped clean which is not what I wanted and told Ken that at the time. I have to call her tomorrow and find out more information about what was done to it. That's it.

Re: ECM Reboot
Well. I checked out the ecm and it is totally wiped. Won't test at all. This is not what I asked for. Only thing that I can think of is Ken had planned to install the software when he got it back and died before he could. He wife probably had no idea of that and shipped it not knowing.
Roy P.S., I checked and the company is totally out of business.
