Default Valves vs Stripes article... A dilemma some of us faced?

https://oppositelock.kinja.com/ultim...ran-1614560364

I know I was cross shopping a Grand Sport before I realized a ZR1 was an option for similar money...

Anyone else?

HMMM.

Let's see.

OUTSTANDING Paint, VERY good engine, Very low production numbers, tacky plastic wheel flares, nice stripes and Great Name!

or

So, So paint, OUTSTANDING Engine, low production numbers, kicked the snot out of darn near anything in it's day regardless of price or country of origin, bar none.
a rather big butt, a Hallowed name, a sound that takes your breath away at 7,000 RPM, and an engine bay that you can pull up a chair and stare at it for hours.

Yeah, tough choice............................................ ..........

The GS was my plan B. Thankfully, it didn't come to that.

Seeing how my Z is Admiral Blue, the thought has crossed my mind to have stripes put on it and have the wheels refinished...

I have not completely disregarded it either

I went through the GS vs ZR decision process, but the LT-5 won me over. The engine in the GS is just ok in my book. I think the GS has lower production numbers and seems to be fetching higher sales $$$. Some articles seem to say that the GS can keep up with a Z That I doubt! 40-50hp makes a pretty big difference in a 3200lb car.

It's the WAXER vs. WARRIOR dilemma!

The C4 GS is a paint scheme, unique VIN#, plastic eyebrows (flairs), and OBD-II: the epitome of BLING.

The ZR-1 will eat its lunch in all other respects, and its uniqueness goes waaay beyond paint and eyebrows: the epitome of ZING and sign of things to return when performance means everything again (to some).

But, if you like bling, the Zs have a pallet for that too!

There is no comparison, ones a ZR-1 and the other one is not and never did like the tacky rear flairs, that kills it for me.

I?m as patriotic as the next guy, but IMHO that color scheme does not flatter the C4.
Named after THE most vicious badass racer Zora ever built, these Grand Sports have no performance enhancements that you couldn?t get on the base car. So, it?s just a paint job. A ?parade? car.
On the other hand, the ZR-1 has most of it?s special appeal under the hood. But wouldn?t it have been even better with a few of it?s own special design cues instead of just a tacky Little plastic emblem on it?s big beautiful butt?
How about it?s own unique stripe, ( maybe just a Silver one). How much could it?s own special gill panels cost? That would?ve been cool. But we would all be pissed off when they showed up on all the ?fake ZR-1?s?out there.)
?Waxer vs. Warrior?indeed, Paul.
