Default 1990-1990 C4 Corvette Front Air Bag Warning Light On

Can I test my air bag impact sensors ? Could it be the steering wheel ?
I have checked that both sensors are earthed.

Pat,
Is the seat belt light on also?
Check the wiring connectors behind the driver's side kick panel and under the carpet on passenger's side of the trans tunnel. Yellow wires. Bad connections at these locations are a common issue.
Take care.

Before you start checking yellow SIR wiring, make sure you disarm the system, first.

Pat,
My experience is that when you locate the issue with the air bag system, the seat belt light will most likely go out also.
If you have already done the re-grounding of the sensors, I would definitely go to the wiring connectors next. I have recently had this issue with mine.
I always take the battery cables loose before touching anything in the air bag system. Let it sit dis-connected for a while. I generally give it an hour or so before proceeding. Not sure if this is the "approved" procedure, but I was told by someone with more knowledge than me that this would work.
If this is not the "approved" procedure I hope someone will chime in so we can add to our knowledge.

Kenny is right. Be careful when working with the SIR system. Very easy to trigger the airbags. I always disconnect the battery and let it sit for a day to discharge the capacitors in the system.

Have you read the codes for the SIR system? The codes will send you in the right direction. If I had to guess the ground on the right side sensor may have a bad ground. Water from the AC system drips on the sensor causing them to lose ground.

Check the how to section on this site for help.
