I know it avail at many parts outlets.. but have heard it needs to be modified for our application
I see one on Jerry's website, which looks OEM.. However, He lists only 1991-995.. what about 1990? is it a different sensor?

Right the replacement, according to Marc, needs to be adjusted to fit.. I was curious on the specific part Jerry has

Replaced it today.. 5 min job. My sensor had a metal spacer and I also found oil had leaked in the electrical side due to cracks in the sensor
I have attached a couple of pictures

The VIN for your 1990 must be under 0500. I hope you left the shim in place. It has to do with DIS Module which is also unique to the first 500 of the 1990 model. After that, the DIS Module was modified & the shim was no longer needed.

Bringing this back up. My VIN is 906 but my crankshaft position sensor also had a shim. What gives?
