Default New ZR-1 Forum

As you can see I have created a new forum as the old one was nothing but problems. I know for you old timers it means starting over but this forum has more options such as uploading your old avatar. If you have any questions send your email to zr1net@zr1.net

Thanks,

Wow, that was kind of a short, and lacking explanation

So the old forum and all it's archived info is gone forever?

Do you mind giving us a more detailed explanation?

Thanks

Sorry, you are right it was short and it was a time factor. Please understand that the main forum is the ZR-1 Net listservice that I run with almost 1,000 members. So between my real job, my second job selling RaceDeck flooring, the ZR-1 Net, the ZR-1 web site and this forum I work 15 hours a day. What's left is for my family.

This forum is here as a secondary support tool for those ZR-1 owners who don't want to be a member of the ZR-1 Net (because of email volume) and may only have an occasional question.

Just so you also know I spent hours trying to fix the old forum (once again) and was getting tired of having to do so every few months. Will this one be more reliable? Time will tell. But it has a lot more features the other did not.

My apolgy to those that don't like the new forum. If I have sometime I'll look at trying to fix the old one.

I'm sorry also if I came across a little too strong, but I liked that forum in the sense that it was more intimate than the ZR-1 section on the CF. It's not that I can't get use to this one, but it doesn't have any of the old info from the old one. If you were either able to transfer the old one to here, or fix the old one, I would be happy.
Since it is much slower that CF, it was easy to look up fixes you read about, or look up a poster who you wanted to speak with. I had archived some info there figuring I could always find it without too much of a hassle. Anyway, is there a way to fix the old one, or update this one with the old ones info?

Also, another suggestion I have for you would be to get a little help on this forum by having a few other people moderate the forum from time to time. The CF has plenty of mods (probably too many), and you should have a few people here to help you. If you spread yourself to thin, everything in your life might suffer, so don't hesitate to ask for a little help.

Lastly, I have to suggest that you do something about the excessive email on the other site. Even though you must pay, I would be there as well, being a fan of our cars, and a person who likes to read about the ZR-1 and it's owners. The only reason I never signed up was because of what everyone said was a email spam nightmare.

I will look into trying to transfer the old data here.

If anyone wants to be a moderator then let me know, I'll be happy to sent them up.

What I have done on the other site is have "TOPICS" you can subscribe to. This has cut down the volume a lot from the old days. I would never say the other list is an email spam.

Thanks,

Thanks,
Your posting anonymously now?

That would be great if the old info can be transfered over.

I'm not sure what you mean by I would never say the other list is an email spam.?

If I can be of help, just let me know.

PS
This new site has a bug in it where it sometimes will not take the post. It's happened to me 3 times already, and I had to hit the back button to retrieve the post, and hit submit again.

The anonymous was because I was remote. :-)

Thanks for the info on the bug, hadn't seen it myself yet. Will look into it.

You mention something about the other listservice having an email spam problem? "email spam nightmare"

Thanks,
