2018 Gathering at the NCM - Thank you for all the support!
This year's Gathering was one of the best ever! Weather was perfect for our events, and the seminars were extremely interesting - it's always amazing to me what we continue to find out about the ZR-1, even some 29 years after the first ones rolled off the assembly line.
I plan to cover the event in the next issue of the Heart of the Beast, however am currently getting caught up at home, and working hard to get prepped for our next race at Indy Motor Speedway in 2 weeks. One big shout out to all of those who made the event such a great time: Our guest speakers: Gary Cline, Ray Davis, Graham Behan, Marc Haibeck, Doug Rippie, Mike Rivet, and Greg VanDeventer. The owners of the historic Black Widow ZR-1s who had their cars on display inside the National Corvette Museum for the event: Ted Hughes, Glenn Grieder, Frank Kafoure, John Malmquist, and John Schmidt. And we couldn't have pulled off such a great event without all of the event's sponsors: Doug Rippie Motorsports, Haibeck Automotive, Jerry's Gaskets, ZF Doc, Gary Cline, Gordon & Chris Killebrew, Gregory Schwark, Greg VanDeventer, and Phil Wasinger. Lastly, a big shout out to Robert DeMarco for providing Friday evening's BBQ! Some great times were had, and stories that will be told for years to come! Regards, Mark

Thank you Mark and the rest of the crew who made this another great gathering experience. This was my wife Liza’s first BG and she thoroughly enjoyed it.

Mark, thank you and the crew for all your hard work. I know these things are very time consuming to organize. This was my first and hopefully the first of many. I had a great time and of course the ZR-1 crowd is always the friendliest to hang out with.

Thank you Mark. The gathering was excellent. I was able to see old friends, make new ones & put faces with names of those I have only spoken to before.
The future of the ZR1Net Registry rests with new & younger members. Preservation of the origin, accomplishments and knowledge gathered along the way is our responsibility today, before it's lost or taken from us when we're inevitably called home. I'm not a web guru, but wonder if we could establish a sort of history/story blog on the registry where one might have a place to share a memory or two. Maybe have an assortment of categories to choose from that is relative to the blog post. I always had this grand plan to go sit down with Rick Kirk & record his stories. He had plenty of unique memories and loved to spin a tale. He's gone now & I never got it done, something I deeply regret. Our Gatherings have always been an opportunity to take a break from our daily routines, share a common bond and forget about politics for a few days. Thanks to all for the time & effort that is expended to make it possible.
