I need to know if there are any numbers on the lt5 engine that links it to the original car it came from.

ive been told the car number is on the right side of the block,above the oil pan,tough i never checked.crowdy,down there.

Some of the 90's and early 91's got replacment motors from the factory.. and will not have the vin# stamped on them..
