Input on 10 Car Storage Building?????
Hi & Thanks. I am starting to think about building a 10 car storage building. This is not to work on cars in, just storage. I have lots of space, 10 Acres. Since I live in the Northeast, I think I am going to do the heated floor, which, I think it will also cool, but I might be wrong. I plan to build it so I can have 10 lifts installed so I could add lifts as I need them. I will have a man door with a mechanical room for the heater/boiler & a small compressor. I will probably run overhead fans 24/7 & maybe a dehumidifier. Any input or suggestions, sizes etc, would be appreciated. Thanks, Tim

If you can put in floor hydronic heating in the concrete base of the garage . Use solar or ground source heatpump to heat the floor . Install an air exchanger for humidity control . Try to use as much solar and battery storage to run fans and pumps and LED lighting .
If i could build a place to store vehicles that is what I would do . Try to stay off the grid ... Sent from my LG-H831 using ZR-1 Net Registry mobile app |

Tim if I may suggest a drive through approach. I have a 6 car garage but On my 4 car tandem side of the structure I have a front and a rear garage door so you can drive through it to the back yard. This makes jockeying around cars a lot easier once everything starts filling up. IF you were working on cars in there I would suggest a small office and a toilet with a wash basin and use the space above that area for overhead storage. Make sure you make enough head room for the lifts you want. just my .02

Re: Input on 10 Car Storage Building?????
Thanks GC. This is going to be a pure storage garage. I have 3600 Sq Ft building to do work on. I did contemplate about the drive thru type set up & I believe it is a winner. I think what I'm going to do initially is frame in the rough in's on the backside, this will give me versitility & the better insulation value of sheeting.....add as I need. Please, Keep it coming!

Re: Input on 10 Car Storage Building?????
Lifts always seem like a great idea for storage, and they do efficiently utilize space.
However, the cars ON my lifts come out far less than the cars UNDER my lifts. I would consider the drive through approach. Having doors on both sides of each 2 car bay makes it a lot easier to get the chosen car out, and eliminates the reluctance to move and lower. A great problem to have but still a problem. Marty |

I would suggest having me and my partner pour your concrete
also like Crylon said " the drive thru approach I think would be best . Since it wold probably be a metal building I would suggest using the best metal screws available - there are various types available -( this is the weak link when using tin) . Good Luck - post some pictures |
