Default Idle Issue - Yes Another

After opening her up a bit and as I come to a stop, idle wants to stay at 2000rpm or so. I tap on the gas pedal, she comes down to 750 rpm. Anything in particular I should look for? Thanks in advance...

This is directly from Marc Haibeck's website.... zr1specialist.com

"High idle speed is most commonly caused by a vacuum leak. The throttle body can cause a high idle if a throttle plate binds with a bore.*If the high idle is intermittent or goes away when the accelerator pedal is kicked, the high idle is caused by the throttle body. If a light tap fixes the idle, the problem is with the primary throttle. If a hard kick to 25% throttle or more helps, the problem is with the secondary throttles."

Hope this helps....

So a vacuum leak would cause a constant high idle?

I am the original poster about the idol issue. The fact that as I coast down to a stoplight it sticks out about 1600 RPM, I tap on the pedal and it goes back down to 650 RPM, I may have a problem with the primary secondary cable?

How many miles? I bet your throttle body needs a service.

You may be experiencing a normal situation. My car doesn`t return to normal idle speed until its fully stopped.

My '90 does the same thing sometimes, after about 10 miles or so when it's heated up it comes back to normal idle.
