I will be heading for BG next Wednesday and I have a question that I asked several weeks ago in a different BG thread but got no answers. I wondered if we have to sign up with anyone in advance for the Thursday night dinner at the Oasis restaurant. The agenda says the dinner group leaves from the museum at 4:30 but I presume (as a former restaurant operator) that the restaurant would like to have a head count for the dinner in advance. So I wondered who to tell that I plan to be there. Who actually has set this up? Inquiring minds want to know...Bob

Hi Bob!
The Oasis is in Franklin, KY about 30 minutes south of Bowling Green. I have never been to The Oasis, but they said they not only have the capability to handle large parties, but have ample parking. It's an adventure: we will see! Ted Feder ZR-1 Net Registry Events Chairman Oops, your original question: We want to keep this very informal. The Oasis said that they have a large party room/space that we can use. We (and The Oasis) don't know how many will participate. Therefore, it is a pay as you go event: everybody will get their own bill/check. Last edited by tf95ZR1; 05-10-2017 at 10:09 PM. Reason: Wanted 2 |

Thanks Ted, but has anyone actually taken a head count to see how many might show up there for dinner? If only a half dozen or so, no problem but things always go more smoothly at a restaurant when the restaurant is prepared in advance for a large group with tables arranged or segregated, sufficient wait staff on duty, etc. So I was just curious.
It sounds like the plan is just for everyone who wants to come to show up there at some time, say about 5:30 PM or so? --Bob

Yes, it appears to be a bar and grill.

Bob,
They are expecting our group with our initial estimate of attendees, and we've arranged to contact them again before we depart the NCM in order to provide a more accurate number. Regards, Mark
