Interesting EBAY ZR-1....Sort of
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-Ca...m=252301937725
Found this while surfing Ebay. I had never heard of this Camaro before, and had no idea GM would ever built it but they did. Aside from the 90's crazy colors, it's kinda badass. |

I have. it was a part of the GM Heritage collection that crossed the block at BJ auctions about 5 years back. Yeah the colors were all the rage back in the day and yes it is a one of one. GC

I was there and saw it go across the block. Even bid on it a couple times (but it got out of my budget quickly).... Cool concept, but it takes some getting used to the colors.

Do not like the graphics at all....Than again if it's dark out and you drop your keys between the seats,I'm sure they will glow in the dark...
Love the ram air effect on the LT-5 motor .....Guess it would be a little cramped to get this set up on the ZR1..The front fascia is to narrow to fabricate a hole to allow the ducts....Nice concept though .... |

The car sounds awesome and drives well. Nice piece of Camaro history there will all the good parts from the GM parts bins including the ZF6 trans.

I remember that sucker. It was built for SEMA, I think, after the LT5 was introduced to the media in June '88 at old Riverside International Raceway.
Jon Moss was controversial for sure. He was a "madman" when it came to building show/concept cars. Some thought he was a nutcase. To be honest, I'd forgotten about all the LT5 stuff he did until I saw those images, but one car I really remember was an aluminum 572-cuin Gen 4 F-car he built. I remember driving it one time at a press preview and thought, wow....it this thing got into the hands of an inexperienced driver it would be like having a grenade with no pin and the handle held with a rubber band.

Is that the paint scheme from original? Or did someone do that later?
If that's the scheme from its debut, probably best to leave it ugly, for max value (my uneducated guess). |

It is how GM built it. It would be tempting to improve it but how much history does that ruin?
