New ZR-1 Owner
Just bought a 1990 ZR-1 with 10,500 miles. Basically a new 25 year old car! It seems to have most of the original coolant hoses. Can anyone suggest a source for a complete coolant hose kit?
This is a great site and I will spend a lot of time studying the postings. Thanks, Roger Pittsburgh, PA |

Re: New ZR-1 Owner
Call Jerrys Gaskets he has all hoses you will need in either rubber or silicone. He is one of our sponsers and a forum member with tons of parts for sale specifically for our ZR-1 LT5 cars. Congratulations on your new ride. Nothing like a ZR-1.

Re: New ZR-1 Owner
First of all welcome to the board and zr-1 ownership. I'm happy you found us and a great car. What I'd be more worried about is if the injectors are original, if they are they will need changed. I sent you a pm, i'm no master mechanic but I should be able to lend you a hand if you need one. I hope you join the registry and join us at carlise

Welcome to "The Brotherhood of the Beast!"
Yes, Jerry's Gaskets is the place to look first for all things LT5, and other parts as well. None finer to deal with anywhere. And, this is the place for help with anything ZR-1 related: tremendous pool of knowledge here.

I would replace ALL Original Coolant Hose Clamps also........Aligning the Hose Clamps so the tightening screw can be easily reached by socket or screw driver. You may have to use a razor blade to cut lengthwise on some hoses after removing the Stock Hose Clamp to remove the Original Coolant Hose. I use a bit o Permatex on the inside ends of ALL New Coolant Hoses. Re: New ZR-1 Owner
I may be wrong but I will not use clamps that is tightened with a screwdriver. They do not compensate for temp. change, where as the factory style does. HMO

Re: New ZR-1 Owner
Wow, you guys sure know how to create a warm welcome with loads of help already!
I attached a few pics, hope they come through. I wasn't crazy about the graphics but it seems to be professionally painted on under the clear coat. Except for the exhaust, the car doesn't have a spot of corrosion anywhere. Previous owner must've kept it in a zip-lock baggy lol. Thanks again!! Roger Pittsburgh, PA |
