Default Mercury Marine small block DOHC

Those of us who visited Mercury Racing this summer saw their work and the mighty QC4v up close.

I didn't realize Mercury was working on a small block DOHC engine.

read about it here http://www.mercuryracing.com/runway-...-road-to-sema/

and here http://www.noodls.com/view/3072B92D1...4xxx1415131016

I know this isn't exactly ZR-1 related, but it's interesting as it relates to the LT5 in a way.

Gary

Gary,

Wouldn't it be something to bolt up to a ZF-6!

The information leads me to believe it is for LS blocks although it does not say so exactly- more like utilizes existing LS hardware- perhaps the crank, rods, and pistons along with the oiling system in a special block.

Mike,

MM has been using GM blocks for many years. This is an LS block w DOHC heads. You can see that the cams are belt driven with an exterior cam drive.

We've seen some more information about this since SEMA, but here's one more post to add to the discussion
