Never ceases to amaze me when looking through ads for classic vehicles - ZR-1s especially, of course - how often fools engage in outright hyperbole! The worst example is how they throw around the word, "PERFECT". That untitled red on red '90 with 30-some miles on it wasn't even "PERFECT".

For your viewing pleasure, the "BEST ZR1 FOR SALE" has only 31K miles and is in "PERFECT SHAPE" and now available to YOU, its lucky 5th owner.

This ZR-1 is just down the road from me. I don't know anything about it or the owner, but I would be glad to inspect it if anyone is interested.

Perfect means absolutely flawless, without fault. Call it excellent, instead. That's my only point.

Perfect for it's price point maybe. Perfect for a clean driver.

I bought a used truck because I needed one cheap and to have something to run parts around in. I found it listed on CL as 'Best Pickup Ever'. It was for $3200.

Perfect doesn't mean nice or even excellent. It's not a subjective word; it means that an object has NO flaws. If the description is accurate, then this must be a 100-point NCRS Top Flight car. Would you NCRS guys agree?

It looks like a very nice example. Better than mine anyway. Granted I should have a decent car when I'm done with it, but this is a case of if you can get it for $15,000 that is a great deal.

I agree, it looks like an extremely nice car, and it should be described as such. My issue is not with the actual condition of the car but with the seller's claim that the car is perfect. An object must only have one flaw in order to not be perfect. I am simply trying to view this through the eyes of an NCRS guy who has painstakingly - and at spectacular expense - gone through every single nut and bolt on his car to try to achieve true perfection. For instance, Brad (Z06Centair) just got a 98.8 point Top Flight award last week, and I'm willing to bet it was very difficult (to say the least) to get the car fully prepared. We need to be very careful about using the word "perfect" when there is a points-based system already in place that is specifically meant to tell us how close a car really is. I have respect for the NCRS judging process and for those who decide to submit their cars to it. I would simply ask that someone take the time and effort to put his car through that tedious process before telling me that it is perfect.

I am sure being a black car I can find 20 or 30 flaws in the paint. I also saw a crushed side bolster on this car which is perfectly crushed. It is a nice car but not even close to perfect. Wannabe salesman use the word alot just to sell there stuff. Usually when I hear the word perfect I start looking for flaws with no forgiveness. Perfect is used too loosely when describing cars and those who use them are usually lying.
