Oil smoke
Just got back in from Japan yesterday and decided to get the car out this morning.
Backed in out of the garage and let it idle for ten minutes before going for a ride. The car has not been started in a month. Here is where the question comes in. When I got in the car to back up in the driveway, I touched the gas and a large puff of oil smoke appeared to come from both tailpipes. I revved the motor a few times and the smoke was gone. Left for my drive and everything seemed fine. What could have been the root cause of the oil smoke? |

Re: Oil smoke
if you ever pull the plenum you will see its coated on the inside with oil, might have pooled due to sitting....and then burnt off at startup

Re: Oil smoke
The 1990 models don't have the viton (rubber) valve seals so they are known to puff a bit on hard accel. If you have a '90, totally explainable.
