92 ZR-1 possible purchase
Hi everyone
I'm looking at a '92 ZR-1 for sale advertised here: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...=1&cardist=658 Some things look out of place though, so I am not sure if there is something iffy about the deal. If you look at the pics the car has the '95 gills and a forced air induction system. I asked the buyer about any mods to the car and he said it was chipped, had an replacement exhaust and a 'racing' clutch. The VIN checks out for a 92 though and comes up with a clear title. Any feedback or comments would be appreciated. Dave |

Re: 92 ZR-1 possible purchase
Doesn't seem to be forced-air on the inside. Looks like the later windshield cutout also, which I thought was 93+ but I could be wrong about that. I wonder what's written on the plenum?

Re: 92 ZR-1 possible purchase
No there doesn't seem to be anything inside the engine bay - just the intake at the front.
The seller sent me some better quality pics. I've uploaded them to my site here - http://www.vette-dreams.com/92/92zr1.htm - in case that can help. There's definitely something on the plenum but I still can't make it out. Some kind of 'tuner' plate perhaps? |

It says "FORCED AIR". I assume it came with the Forced air duct in the front bumper.

Re: 92 ZR-1 possible purchase
What's with the door handles? The exhaust tips look stock, though that doesn't mean the exhaust is. The wheels look chromed, especially compared to the center caps. You might find out the specifics on the "racing" clutch. If it's a single-mass flywheel, it may have more gear noise than normal when idling.
Nothing looks horrible about the car from the picts, though. Go check it out and take it for a spin.

The owner is currently in Thailand and doesn't seem to know much about the history of the car.

Re: 92 ZR-1 possible purchase
My eyes must be going! Does any one see in the second picture some hood brackets that are not the usual black color?
Maybe its the angle that the light is hitting them but they look like bare metal to me??? Tom
