Brass tag
I was just reading one of my old vette magazines (march 2000) and pg 28 tells about a brass tag put on one lt-5 engine. Car was at a Pennsylvania dealer and sat on the lot for about 6 months before selling. Buyer never knew of the tag on the engine. It was signed by Jim Perkins of GM and Barry Eller of mercury marine. Was this car ever located? In 2000 it appeared no one knew where the car was. Anybody have an update?

Re: Brass tag
There was a thread about a year ago on the same topic and nobody has seen it.

Re: Brass tag
Where would the tag be located? My '90 was originally a PA car (along w/ hundreds of others).

Re: Brass tag
Quote from corvette fever, "the tag was installed underneath the plenum on top of the motor, and is visiable, but just barely." Jim Perkins of Chevrolet and Barry Eller of Mercury Marine signed the tag.

Re: Brass tag
Here’s a visual of the tag.
Top of tag reads: 1991 • Job #1 Chevrolet LT-5 V8 Produced July 13, 1990 At the bottom of the tag are the signautes of Perkins & Eller. B17 Crew Last edited by B17 Crew; 04-01-2013 at 10:38 PM. |
