Default Relays Needed

Have just purchased a 1994 ZR1 and am wondering about the relays I ought to have "on hand". Also have the factory manuals and they are not helpful when I tried to find the location of relays on the car. (Unless I'm looking in the wrong sections) Have just gotten out of the muscle car era (69 Plymouth GTX ) which had no advanced electrical components at all. So I need help on electrical spare parts and their location. Thanks in advance.

I am not so sure you have to stock up on relays.......the only relay I bought was one for the starter which I added as a modification and now sits under ECM to prevent No Start issues. Starter Relay, Wiring Harness, Battery, and Plugs Tricks

I am not so sure you need any spare electrical parts except bulbs for lights unless you have LED
A lot of the electrical issues can be traced to bad or deteriorating ground connections. Or in my case missing a ground connection when installing an LT5 in the ZR-1 Make Sure ALL Grounds Are Connected

Can you give specifics of what relay or what issue you're having? With that I can try to help focus on the issue at hand.

I guess I wasn't clear. Was wondering what relays there are that have some history of failure, that can shut you down from getting home, and could be carried with you for getting you back home. I have heard some references to the fuel pump relay and the starter relay in these cars. Or am I off base? Thanks.

You were very clear
see Do not stock up on items that rarely fail

I have heard of guys/gals taking spare starters with them for example....which is an example of getting carried away.

I would have some tools including an ohm meter in storage area (passenger storage area under insert is a large area for tools).

I have no spare relays. Never had a failure.
Here is what I keep "on hand".
1. ECM w/stock chip (to get through DEQ)
2. oil filters (5 or so)
3. spare air filter
4. set of plugs
5. GM hydrolic clutch fluid
6. ZF6 tranny fluid (GM can't get it any more)
7. Spare set of tires and wheels.

For ideas on service and repair I go to:

and look under "INFORMATION"
