Charcoal canister
A line runs from canister into(and back out) of a little box
Next to parking light with a wiring connector ran to it. What Is this? Anyone remove theirs? |

That could be the purge valve actuator. I know the system does purge the canister, but I don't really know under what circumstances a purge is triggered.
I would think that unless you remove all parts of the EVAP system, and maybe even delete that section of the engine management programing on the EPROM, you would get a SES light. I know for sure it's part of the function list that the ECM "monitors" and has "control via command inputs" over. Tom

The canister for all practical purposes (that I understand) is
already "eliminated". No longer flows back to intake and been tuned accordingly. Just wanted to make sure that was indeed What I (andyou)thought it was. |
