Default Crate Engine LT5 , Id Number Decode Help

I have located a LT5 1993 Crate engine for purchase, but i would like some help decoding the ID Tag on the back of the engine.

Thanks for your help. I wanted to make sure it was a 93 405 hp LT5 before I buy.

That's easy enough to do without resolving the code. All 405 Hp engines had EGR. Look for the silver flex pipe running from th RH side of the plenum, right behind the throttle body, downwards to the EGR valve located just forward of the engine mount. There are other visual cues but this is the easiest to see.

The 93 will look just like this one.

According to info I have ZUD is not a valid code for any model year LT5.
The proper place to find engne ID is on the left side of the lower crankcase housing inside of the motor mount as seen here for a 1994 model year LT5.

Following are the engine ID codes for all LT5 model years

1990 Engine Code-(First three alpha digits)
ZSD-non-ac
ZSH-AC

1991 Engine Code-
ZTK

1992 Engine Code-
ZAA

1993 Engine Code-
ZVC

1994 Engine Code-
ZWC

1995 Engine Code-
ZUF

After looking at the picture , the paper tag is on that Bell housing not the engine. But it clearly show a "10ZUD"

It does have the EGR pipe running down the passenger side front of the motor. So that looks promising but the none matching ID makes me wonder a little.
