Default Chain Tensioners...

Am wondering if the reuse problem has to do the the C-clip.....pulled a tensioner out of my 90 motor(in the car)...not easy to separate 2 days in the freezer and it came loose...after battling one that reset and would then not open....to me even a slight tweak and these will lock up.

thoughts?

Tried finding new, but none as the local places...

Lee,
Is the inner plunger binding in the bore of the outer cylinder?
I've seen some that drag a bit but never seen one completely stuck before. After a good polishing they run smooth as silk.

Yep, had to pull one out of my 90 motor, I am all set on the engine...I am not running the retaining C clip as some have seen tensioner bind....
