ZF6 lube
i will be changing the fluid in the 6speed while i have it out and was wondering what you all are using for lube/quantity, any additive? never changed it so tell me what you think or just go with what the manual suggests?? brody p.

My trans was rebuilt/improved by Bill B. and he recommended Castrol 10w-60 synthetic available at the BMW dealerships. Naturally this comes in liter bottles. Takes about 2.2 quarts...

BMW dealers will sell it. easiest way to get it.

Been very pleased with the shifting using Amsoil Synchromesh, but it does leak a little bit out of the shifter rod seal. Not sure if the other oil would do that or not.
I'm also using this lube in a newer Mustang. |
