Default Power Steering changes from 1991 to 1992

Since I have the power steering pump removed from my 91, I am going to replace the high pressure line and the return line. I have a low-mile pump from a 95, which appears identical in every way. However, the part number for the high pressure hose, changed in 1992. The fittings are stated as being the same, but the length of the 1992-1995 hose is 38", whereas the 1990-1991 is stated as being 28". Can anyone confirm if the 92-95 does indeed have a longer high pressure hose than the 1990-91?

Thanks!
Andrew

OK, a little bit of digging revealed the following. I think in 1992, the routing of the high pressure line was changed, requiring a longer length. 1990 and 1991, the line comes from the output of the pump, and runs down, then towards the front cover of the motor, and the balancer. it then curves back towards the steering rack.

I think the 1992 - 1995 high pressure hose, comes out of the pump, then runs down and outboard towards the frame rail, perhaps, and then comes back inboard towards the rack.

It would be great if someone can confirm the routing in their 92-95.

OK, I guess nobody was interested in raising the hood on their 92-95 to tell me how the pressure hose is routed.

Hi VetteMed,
On my 94 the pressure hose comes out of the pump, makes a 90 degree
turn downward in between the 2 reservoir hoses, then another 90 turn towards
the rear along the side of the engine, from there another 90 turn downward,
to the last 90 turn now forward. From here it goes straight over the steering
gear(rack) makes a loop to the left(drivers side) to the port on the steering
gear.

My 94 has 28000 miles on it so I"m pretty sure its still original.
I hope this helps...jimmy
