Bolster Motor
Well, look's like I have a driver's side bolster motor not working. Anybody have this problem as well as a fix previously? Haven't tried cleaning the switch or anything, just thought I would check.
Thanks

Re: Bolster Motor
The usual failure in the 90-93 bolster pump is the rubber diaphragm. Apparently a small piece of latex glove works as a replacement. However, if you're not hearing the pump at all, it's either not getting power, or it's seized up. Probably best to pull the lower seat cushion (very easy to do), and see what's going on at the wiring connector for the pump.

By the way, I already did the rubber glove repair three years ago to the lumbar motors (which you are talking about) and the repair has worked great so far. Thanks for the reply Andrew.

Re: Bolster Motor
OK, at least the pump issue is probably ruled out, then!
It's easy enough to diagnose a bad switch, I suppose, since it's just a simple matter of jumping the 2 wires to close the circuit... I have not messed with the circuitry of the 90-93 seats, I'm much more familiar with how the 94-96 seats are wired... sorry I can't be of more help -Andrew

Re: Bolster Motor
I have a working extra bolster assembly if you find it is that.. might just be the switches though

Re: Bolster Motor
Update, worked on the Nova this weekend so didn't get to the bolster yet. Next weekend for sure though as the Nova is all done for this year.

Re: Bolster Motor
Just Pm'd you Jeff. I am suspecting the switch also, but hope not. Kurt is the only one who has one, spendy, but if you gotta have it, you gotta have it.

Re: Bolster Motor
I played with the switch today and the motor was clicking. I removed the cushions, cleaned all the connections and the bolsters now work fine.
Thanks for the input guys.
