oil change question
I got my amsoil z rod in today and will get a filter tomorrow. How many quarts will it take? ( not flushing the system ) , It had amsoil all along and I figure I'll keep it that way.. Thanks

For an oil change with a filter change I add 8.6 quarts.

Just a suggestion... I would put in 8 qts and start engine briefly and then check dip stick and then add 1/2 qrt at a time (start engine and shut down) until dip stick shows correct level. Engines with oil coolers etc can be tricky and it is better to slowly step up to oil capacity rather than over fill. BTW...most excellent choice in oil

I'll do the 24 Hr wait .. Does anyone here use Prolong or Dura-lube..? I would think it would help with the first few seconds of starting....

You'll be one of the few who do. No need to over think this one. You're already putting in top-of-the-line fluids. I'm not certain how much you're going to gain on this one.
