Default Tires???

This is my first post and I hope that I am in the correct location. My question is about tires. My ZR-1 is in need of tires and it appears that there are very few options available. Sumatomo seems to be readily available. Goodyear and Kumho are iffy. Are there other brands that make tires to accommodate the 17 inch wheels? If not then what?
Help!

You can also run 285/40ZR17 size tires on the front and 335/35ZR17 size tires on the rear which gives you a few more choices.

Nitto 555's have been good wet/dry for me, with good traction.

Sumis are great if you are getting ready to sell the car and part of your sales pitch is that the car has new tires. I had them and I was not impressed. As Phil stated you get what you pay for.

GSD3's are awesome. Long life and decent looks.

Michelin PS2's are the best (in my opinion)
These are available on Ebay for cheap! 335 35 17's for $600 shipped (new) or 529 plus shipping for 2009 dated tires.

Nitto's get lots of praise too

I agree with GoldCylon on the Sumi's... Yuck!

Thanks to all for information, especially on the different tire sizes that are possible. Now the problem is finding GS D3's in stock.

I'd go with the Nitto 555 R's on the rear. You will get much better traction.

If you want the fatter tire look then go with the GSD-3.

I like the look of the new MT ET streets on my car. It doesn't look like I gave up alot on the width of the tire and they hook like a street walker in Dallas ;-)

Of course, my car is not a daily driver so these may not be the best choice for everyone:

Here's how hard they hooked:
