Default WTB SIR Sensor

Looking for a NEW SIR Sensor 1990 RT side (same both sides) GM part number: 10094613. Will consider used if known working and price is right.

Check your spare parts!

Thanks,
John

If they are the same for both sides then I do have one from a 94. Are they the same?

FWIW, The part pictured in the link is a later MY sensor. A 1990 sensor has a round 3 prong plug. I believe they changed the sensor connection after the 1991 MY to look like the in-line 3 prong as pictured. I can post a picture of a 1990 sensor if you would like.

I think if you look in the Helms manual there is a few resistance measurements you can make to verify the sensor works.

Yes, the correct connection is round. The sensor I have, I bought new from Tom Henry a couple of years ago. They are out of stock now. I r/r'd and cleaned the ground to no avail, so I think it is a bad sensor. I believe that the right-hand ones go bad quicker due to the fact they sit under the a/c and get condensation dripped on them. Both sides are the same p/n. The p/n is stamped on the top of the sensor: 10094613.

I had a similar problem with the one on the right side. Removed it off the frame, cleaned it and the frame good, added an external tooth washer and reinstalled. Cleared the code and after about 10 miles or so the code reset.

I posted and someone suggested cleaning the contacts on the splice in the passenger foot well. I bought some good quality contact cleaner sprayed the connection and slid it together a couple times (to clean the surfaces) sprayed it, let it dry and put it together. Reconnected the battery, cleared the code and it has been working properly since. It may just be a dirty or loose connection under the carpet in the footwell.

Tyler Townsley's 2/27 post about 3rd in the thread.

Good luck, John

I cleaned the sensor and frame real good and applied dielectric grease. I disconnected and reconnected the connection in the footwell, however, i did not use contact cleaner. Tomorrow morning I am going to clean the sensor and frame rail again real good and not apply the grease and use some contact cleaner on the connection in the footwell. Also, the locking washers with the teeth sound like a good idea.

Thanks for the info. THe last time this happened I printed out the how-to thread and followed the directions. Worked good for the left side, ut the right side was a bad sensor. I replaced it and it worked fine for about 2-3 years.

Well, I cleaned everything up again using contact cleaner including connector to no avail. So, does anybody happen to have a SIR Sensor p/n10094613 new or used (working, of course) for sale?

Good news! Disregard the shoutout for a new SIR Sensor. The cleaning job worked! I just forgot to reset the code. Restarted and no DIC light. Will button it up today and drive tomorrow. Keep fingers crossed!!
