Average Miles/Prices
I had a few minutes to kill this afternoon and I was curious what the average mileage and asking price was in the for sale section of the web site. See below:
1990 (16 cars) Avg miles: 26608 Avg price: $25,199 1991 (7 cars) Avg miles: 41454 Avg price: $27,470 1992 (6 cars) Avg miles: 41634 Avg price: $22,983 1993 (5 cars) Avg miles: 35260 Avg price: $31,800 1994 (4 cars) Avg miles: 21640 Avg price: $33,125 1995 (12 cars) Avg miles: 10360 Avg price: $42,065 Kinda interesting... Re: Average Miles/Prices
Does the average change significantly if you throw out the highest one...or lowest and highest? I could ask $50k for mine, but it would never sell.
Somebody did this with ebay over a 6 month period (or so) and the actual numbers are much more humbling. |

Good points. The data is obviously skewed -- just a reflection of the prices on our site here. The fleabay data would definitely be more rooted in reality.

It would depress us all very much no doubt. Better not to know now and wait for the return to better home and auto prices in the future when the good times come again I hope.

Re: Average Miles/Prices
Although mileage is a datum point for selling a car, in the case of the ZR-1 many other variables come to play:
-interest in purchaser for a DD/NCRS/mod or just a reasonable in condition ride -simply looking a cheapest way to get a ZR-1 -OEM looks and parts are important -condition... just a very overall looks to chassis/interior to exterior pristine to excellent and -unfortunately looking only for a parts car Selling a ZR-1 is a matter of right car at right price and right purchaser thus I do not pay any value on averages or trends.... Just my opinion of course
