Thermal and Acoustic Insulation
As a part of header install I wanted to install thermal and acoustic pad outside the tranny hump.
I remembered Craig's post and got the product info from him but it seems the stuff he used is no longer available. As Craig had said, the best place to create a protection layer is actually outside the car directly over the headers. However, my concern is finding a right product that will adhere and stay adhered to the fiberglass hump. Has anyone used a product as I am contemplating? Concern is the adhesive may melt or, worse yet, catch fire. |

Re: Thermal and Acoustic Insulation
I don't really know what it is or where to get it, but on the floorpans of my Silverado 2500HD (with Duramax diesel), there's a metallic material of some type which looks like a noise or heat deadener. Perhaps this material might work for your purposes.
