Default Big Brakes Needed

Hi all. I want to utilize either C5 or C6 ZO6 brakes. I know there are some caliper brackets and kits. I searched the threads but would just like to be able to take the list for what I want and order it.

I have GenII Dymags that will accept some huge brakes. I just don't know how huge????? They are 17x11 and 17x13 wheels.

I "think???" I want to stay with Corvette brake calipers and rotors, preferably.

Any advice?

Hi Brett, Rick from NJ ( rickyrj1 ) has a line on a company that makes adapters to use the entire C6 ZO6 brake package.

The AP Racing Calipers in the ZR-1 are much bigger than the Wilwood's on the 89 and the GEN II's clear them with no problems. I feel like you will be just fine with the stock C6 Z06 stuff, rears especially!

Daniel, I appreciate the input regarding the Dymags we both have. I figured they'd clear just about anything. Do you have spacers on the front 17x11's?

No, no spacers up front but the hub looks as though it is just a bit thicker than the stock units. The wilwoods have one heck of a spacer built into the hat. I do not know why but the car had spacers on the rear... It has a bracket between the hub and the rear knuckle that is made so the "old" front J55's could mount out back. The rear uses the stock front hardware. I have removed the spacer and put the rim on and do not see where it would rub at all but put it back on for now. If you would like pictures of anything just let me know of what and what angles.

Thanks, Daniel. I'll most likely go with the C6 Z06 setup with the aftermarket brackets.

Brett,

You need 18" wheels for the Z06 calipers. Won't work on 17s. I'll sell you my Brembos and convert to Z06 brakes.
