Can't find it can I use 271, where it calls for 262 or will that be too strong?

Re: Loctite 262
See if you can find Loctite 263. It's the same strength as 262, except that it already has primer.
I'm in the process of becoming approved as a jobber for Loctite and will be listing 242/3 & 262/3 on the website. A couple of the guys at BG told me it was a pain to find and run around to get it.....suggested that i keep it in stock as a convenience item.

Re: Loctite 262
They might not have 262 anymore, but here's the 263 that A26 mentions.

Re: Loctite 262
I`ve got two nearly full bottles. 1.69 fl. oz. They use it on each little job where i work and leave the remainder of the bottle to be thrown away. Thats when i come into the picture. If you don`t have any luck finding any, let me know and i`ll mail you one of em.

Re: Loctite 262
I see you have it resolved, but for what it is worth, here is the answer I received when I had a problem finding 262 in Hawaii. This is from Loctite Tech USA Industrial Dept:
Craig, Loctite 262 is approximately 40% less strength in both breakaway and prevailing strength than Loctite 271 on steel fasteners. The fixture time is a little longer with Loctite 271 vs 262, 10 minutes and 5 minutes respectively. The viscosity is lower with Loctite 271 than 262, 500 cps vs 1850cps. Other than that the temperature , gap filling and sizes of fasteners are about the same. Hope this has helped you. Take Care, Tom Kosloski
