Default Walter Reed Hospital Event

Hi guys, sorry for being forward and being out of my region. Saturday May 14th there is an event at Walter Reed Hospital.

It's a car show for the wounded soldiers at the hospital, in the parking lot. I was figuring that maybe anyone close that was not going to be at BG this year might be interested in supporting this event. I posted this in your section because the hospital is in your region.

The thread is over at corvette forum. It's a sticky in the northeast events section at the top of the page. The thread's title is " A Day with our Wounded Warriors".

Thanks for your time!

Tom

This is a great event!!!! Billy and I went to it last year.... This year it conflicts with BG and I can't make it

I've been in contact with the organizers and they will keep us updated on any other event supporting our troops!!!!

Thanks for getting the word out. I'm planning on being at Walter Reed on the 14th.

For anyone not planning to make the pilgrimage to Bowling Green on May 14th, the details for the Wounded Warrior event are as follows:

- The actual event starts at 1PM, Saturday May 14th at Walter Reed Army Hospital Malone House Parking Lot. The address is 6900 Georgia Avenue NW, Washington DC 20307.

- There is a security check before being given access to the facility. Make sure you have your drivers license and proof of insurance with you.

- A small group is planning to meet and leave from Denny’s at 314 Washington Blvd, Laurel, MD 20707 at 12 noon and caravan to Walter Reed.

- Any type of vintage, classic, or cool looking head turning vehicle is welcome.

I don't know if the V is interesting enough, but I'd be up for this thing if they settle on a date!

Bob, I'm sure the V would have been just fine.

David, I just got a similiar message. It was a copy of a message sent to the guy I met on the Forum who was coordinating the Walter Reed Event. The message was sent by the event Program Manager.

"We cancelled the the 5/14 program because we were not able to bring together the elements of the entire program. The program is specifically designed to deliver an excellent "Salute Our Nations Wounded Heroes" out of respect for their extent of their courage and sacrifice to protect the freedoms each one of us so fully cherish and enjoy.

Be assured, the event team will keep you and your drivers as part of our planning for the next event we conduct to honor these families."
