Default Westminster MD - WMD on Sunday April 17

We will be having a Westminster Maintenance Day on Sunday, April 17th, 2011. Everyone is invited. We will be starting on Darrin's car at 8:30, but come at any time that fits your schedule.

Scheduled jobs include injector replacement on two ZR-1's and rear wheel bearings on my 1994 ZR-1.

We will also be trouble shooting a Secondary System Vacuum leak. If you have ever wanted to see what is involved in working on the Secondary Throttle System, this will be a great opportunity.

The location is in the garage behind my house at 195 W Main St, Westminster, MD. If you need directions, post here or give me a call at 443-244-1347.

No wrench turning experience is necessary. Come on over just to hang out with the guys.

FREE CORVETTE RIDES TO THE FIRST 50 PARTICIPANTS.

Jim

I had to do my own maintenance day on my wife's truck. How'd the WMD go?

We had a great ZR-1 Day!!!
We replaced injectors and coils in two ZR-1's and then pulled a transmission to replace the clutch disc and replace the transmission input shaft seal which was leaking so bad that it was causing the clutch to slip.

Thanks to David, Bill, Yun, Darrin, Paul, Rich and Glenn for making it a sucessful day.

Jim

WAZOO is the BEST! It was my clutch disk and transmission input shaft that was fixed. The car seems brand new! Thank You ALL!

Nice! I guess if no one had clutch problems, you could have pulled one of Jim's transmissions just to stay in practice!

To anyone who was there, what's the 368 like? I definitely want a ride in that thing one of these days.

The transmission pull was required when we saw the trail of oil on the alley when Paul moved his Z about 50' We put the car on the lift and determined that it had to be the transmission oil leaking. We checked the oil level in the transmission and it was very low. When we got the clutch apart, there was so much oil in there that the clutch face and the flywheel face were slick with oil. No wonder the clutch was slipping. Luckily, Paul still had the clutch disc that a mechanic took out just 200 miles ago when the mechanic replaced the slave cylinder to fix the slipping clutch. I guess the mechanic didn't notice all the oil in there.
