Kevin:

There was a rather heated discussion around here a few months ago, I'll try to dig up the links.

corey henderson has the jeal jiggs for headers . i have a set of jeals on my 90 and love them .i got a set of the stainless works for my 92 and didnt like the way they made them at all . the collector neck down way to fast and tubes were to me to short almost like mid length headers . i am toying with switching the jeal headers to the 92 to see if they make a difference at the strip. if corey makes headers for you they will be a very well made piece that you are sure to like .i am not sure what he charges , but he is allways very fair in his pricing . jmho

Dropping my Z off with Corey this Saturday and installing the OBX headers will be part of the work. Will post his impressions after install.

It would be interesting to see what difference there is between the Jeals and the SWs from a dyno perspective! I have the SWs which look to be very close to the Watson design, and I like them fine - seem to make pretty good power. The SWs were pricey - got mine on a bulk purchase deal set up by that rascal Dave Johnson for about $850ish(?), if I recall; up around $1200 these dayz.

A friend at work just installed some OBX's on his C5. He said the fit and finish was excellent, and from the look of the pictures, one would have to agree. At 1/3 the price of the SWs, I think we all are looking to you and a few others that have opted for the OBXs for your impression of them and how well they stand up.

Good luck! Keep us in the loop!

My son is ruuning the OBXs on his LS1 Camaro. Fitment and weld quality was good. I am interested to see what Corey thinks

Default Re: Recomendations on Headers?

i dont have direct comparos but this is what i found out between my 90 and 92 . my 90 stk mile an hr at the strip was 108 ,with the jeal headers went to 113.no other changes. my 92 stk was 113(callaway475snat) headers 116.48.no other changes . i would definatly ask corey what he thinks . he has the jeal jiggs and can even do a merge collector to them . bottem line from what i found out if you are after the very max performance i would have corey build a set with the merge collector. what i didnt like about the stainless works was the cheese extention that were used to make to the corsa that was on the car at the time and the cat with the ball connector was too big for the ball connector on the corsa . plus i had to make my own extention for the right side o2. stainless works said on the forum they would suply extentions but never did after numerous calls. when i bout the jeals they came with everything to finish the job inc the extention. i am only stating my experience with them . what i dislike when buying aftermarket stuff is having to go and have stuff made after getting it on . when if a little thought is put into what is sold makes a very happy camper .jmho did the obx come with a o2 extention ,or is one needed ????
