Estimate for damages.
Just got the estimate done by Richie collision who specializes in Corvettes and high end sports cars. $1,612.36. I sent the pdf of it to this chick. Then she starts telling me that her and her husband are going through a separation and that she's not even on his Insurance. She hasn't even told him about it yet. But yet she was driving his truck. Im sure he's gonna hit the roof. I told her irrigardless you need to break the news to him so I can get the info I need so we can be done with this. I told her that I don't want this to drag out any longer. Its already been four days. That way me and her husband can deal with eachother over it. I hope I don't have to take her to small claims court. I already don't like where this is going. Cuz all I have is this chicks phone #.

Re: Estimate for damages.
most states do not require an accident report in an a accident without personal injury.
Regardless if they have insurance, I would call my insurance adjuster, and file a claim. Most of us have uninsured motorist coverage on our vehicles. If she does not have insurance, your insurance will pay for the repairs, and sue her. Leave it up to your agent, and breathe a little easier |

Rick this might be a tough lesson learned...always call the police to the scene and get a report...especially in this city, almost half of the motorists in town have no insurance. Yours will pay out if they dont (at least mine will) but you need a police report.

A police report documents the accident for both insurance companies. Always get it!

Re: Estimate for damages.
You can't file a police report after the fact. There's no accident for the officer to witness then. She said I can fill out a blue form which will be sent to austin that will be thrown in a box. I'll just file it with Leland west and they will go after her. Either way it will get fixed.

Re: Estimate for damages.
Up here I think you can...You say there was no officer to witness, but he/she didn't witness the actual accident anyways, Right? But I'm no expert. I try to avoid all that crap cause it usually ends up bad for me just because . Hope it works out...

In this case because the police were not invloved its your word against hers unless you have a witness. I think this is going to go to small claims court if you expect to recover. Never ever leave the police out, unless it occurs on private property and then they wont show up at least in AZ they wont. Good Luck Rick I hope it works out for the best. GC
