Reclaiming the 24 hr. record!?
Anyone thought of reclaiming the 24 hr. record with a ZR1...or can we do it?
We/US...NEED a comeback in a big way. I'm thinking I/we can buy a ZR1 (no dash) set it up and do what Morrison did and take it away from the Germans and their W motor. It will take a team. Thoughts? Rick |

Costs millions to do, we still own the production FIA record.

Ron k, mentioned trying this endeavor, prolly never happen, special event, special people, special time, although many of you went to special schools. Rob (todesengel) could fund this by his self, make sure to let him pick out the wheels. |

Here's where it would need to happen.
http://http://earthobservatory.nasa....ew.php?id=8030 Do you think the LS9 has the durability required? +1 on the cost. $1MM or so. I would say that an record attempt would need 3 cars on the track to help insure one finished.

Will need lots of obummer's funny money - it's beyond my meager means.

Special schools...that is a good one.
Why can't we just buy the car, go out and try it...I mean it's supposed to be so awesome...how much actual prep work besides safety stuff would have to be done? Anyone know about the goodyear proving grounds in San Angelo? how about here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF8&...76818&t=h&z=14 When you get to the sat. image drag it down and look at the circle.
