Default PSA: Don't buy Serp Belt from Autozone

They have the wrong size listed in their database. The belt they have is Dayco 5060800 and the Z needs 5060805. I let the store manager know and she just shrugged her shoulders like she didn't want to be bothered.

This isn't the first thing I bought from them that didn't fit either.

The Orielly's by my house always does a great job. They've never acted like that to me. And their part#'s have always been right.

Thanks for the head's up!

Does anyone remember the days when the guy behind the counter at the parts store actually knew something about cars and the parts that they sold?

Indeed, you would get the feeling they could come to your house and do the job themselves. Now half the time it is a chore just getting them to understand what you are asking for between language issues, or them having an I-Pod speaker in one ear.

As to the Autozone down here(we have very few), I find them to be competent and helpful. I also like their policy of lending out tools/equipment to help you with your repairs. I'd recommend the OP call corporate and let them know about their experience. After all the people that care need to know what the problem is so they can fix it. Sadly it sounds like the local people in the store are just marking time.
