Clearance for dropping the LT5 back in
I have a question for the experts that have took out and put in the LT5 a few times.
Is there enough room to put on the entire clutch with bellhousing out of the Z and then drop in or do you have to do that after it is in? It has been so long that I don't remember what I did when I took it out? This baby is going back in tomorrow. Thanks in advance!!! Craig

The headers are pretty easy to attached after the engine is installed which is how I shall do it Last edited by Dynomite; 08-27-2010 at 07:18 PM. |

Re: Clearance for dropping the LT5 back in
Thanks, we are using a leveler and did so upon removal too. Maybe we'll give it a try. I don't think I would attempt it with headers though. I'm trying to do the least amount on my back under the car.

I imagine with headers, you can drop in most if the way in and then bolt them on before the final drop making it easier for us old guys

Re: Clearance for dropping the LT5 back in
Thanks, I'll check that out today when dropping it in as I do remember it being a little bit of a pain.

Re: Clearance for dropping the LT5 back in
Yes and nope, I have not had any loose women.
All I am waiting on now is the rest of my parts from GVD and I'll be good to go. Doing the final details today and tomorrow; I was really hoping to fire it up before the weekend and it looks like I might not make the Corvettes in Paradise show as well as getting ready to move and gotta get this Z driveable.
