luis tried it and didnt noyice any change in cooling at all. what you can do is run a mix of 70% soft water (not distilled) and 30 % anti freeze during the warm season , you could also buy one of randys 170 stats . they work really niecly . but you shouls have your prom programmed so that the fans come on in the 190 range instead of the factory where the first one does nt come on till 223and the second one at around 230range.hope this helps

JMHO, that looks like it's along the same lines as "Water Wetter" from RedLine.

Although it looks like it plays better with antifreeze than WW. I've used WW and with enough antifreeze in the mix to protect from ice here in the NE, the WW can't help much in that case.

FWIW, I used WW on and off for 5 yrs and really didn't notice a temp difference on the gauge, but I use antifreeze....however I went as low as 25% coolant to water once and did notice a slight difference. This year was a coolant flush year and I did the 45% to 55% coolant to steam distilled water plus one bottle of WW, and I also bought my car a present for it's B-day at BG, a Marc Haibeck standard issue PROM......with the GM standard 180* stat in the car, man what a difference!

Next flush I'm going to leave out the WW just to see if there is a difference in the gauge readings with Marc's PROM. I just have to state the obvious....with Marc's reprogramming of the fan on & off call points my car seems like an ice maker compared to with the OE call points!

having the fan on temps adjusted is well worth the cost of the prom upgrade . i dont care what some say i never have liked coollant temps in the 230 range and never will.

ok i will add "change stat" to my list of todo's before corey's. I did change the stat but way back and dont even remember what temp I put in then. but I think I will change it out like you guys have.

still jacking with current half shaft project.... dam its hot

You findings show exactly what other tests show - no negligible difference with coolant and with water a few degrees at best.

Both My cooling fans turn on at 205 F, and turn off at 200 F.

My LT-5 seems to run pretty cool but my radiator is clean and my coolant is fresh.

Brad I agree with you on the OE call in temps, but that was for the EPA's benefit. Funny thing my 08 Cobalt never gets higher that 218*, ( and it's motor is 1/2 of an LT5 ), and normally it's right around 200*...of course it has more EPA junk hooked up to it than you can shake a stick at! What a mess under the hood!

Luis, not everything is snake oil....now if you asked about the T/B airfoil......I'll try anything that will help lubricate the w/p, even if it don't reduce the temps.

Jim, yes, I agree you need to have a clean cooling stack to start with or it's just a band aid. I pulled my rad at yr two & cleaned up the stack and have had the intake screen on since the car came off of the truck. The screen works, you should see the junk it collects!
