Default 1990 Rear Bumper Moldings (repro)

Hi guys. I just purchased a rear bumper for a 90. I plan to make repro moldings. How many need them if I make a quality repro?

Thanks

Not sure. What would GM pcs sell for? What do you think is a fair market price for a repro?

Nice collection of moldings! I hear people searching for them and I just bought a rear bumper that's very nice with moldings. I don't mind helping to fill a niche IF there is a market. Often times though, people want the product but think that someone should do them dirt cheap. It takes a lot of effort, legwork and time to make any quality part.

I'll do them (and other parts also) IF there's a market and it's worth my time.

I paid $175 for the rear moldings in GM wrappers and I'm pretty sure they made some money on me so I'd say $200 would be a good deal for repros and you would have lots of buyers.

However, if your body guy is good you can take regular C4 moldings and make them yourself in a bind.

For $200 a set, I don't think it's worth the time it takes to develop the end product. Maybe closer to $400.

Well I'm not sure what other guys would pay but going price for either new(hard to find) or like new GM rear moldings(from most reasonable vendors) currently is in the $400 range so I would think owners would be more prone to buy GM or make their own if they were $400 for re pops but who knows

In most cases if you made your own, you can get 2 for $100 or worse case scenario it would run you $200 if both your originals were not salvageable.

I wouldn't re pop 1990 bumper moldings, unless it's strictly for the fun of it. Certainly no financial gains to be had as in the past 5 years, i have never sold an NOS or had any calls for a new 1990 bumper moldings. I did sell a used set a couple years back for $300.00.
91-95 moldings are the ones i get calls for & most certainly if you can make these exact as per OEM, then these will sell over time.
If you have plastic skills or abilities, make power key bezels or the rear license plate filler bezel, these are always in high demand.
